MJM Marquees 2023 in Review

A traditional pole wedding equipped with fairy and coloured lighting

As our team prepares for a busy season ahead, we thought it’d be nice to reflect back on 2023 and take a closer look at some of the events we were involved with.

A warm welcome – Our Wedding Fair

We started off the year strong with our long anticipated wedding showcase in May.

Undoubtedly, the stars of the show had to be our Traditional and Petal Pole marquees, which were fully decorated to illustrate how a wedding could look like. We were also excited to unveil our transparent ceremony tents, a structure which allows guests to stay dry during a ceremony whilst keeping the special occasion feeling fab.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who attended. It was a pleasure chatting to you all and helping out wherever we could – we look forward to doing something like this again in the future.

Vows by the sea – Darren and Emily’s Wedding

It was a wonderful experience helping Darren and Emily bring their coastal wedding to life last Summer.

A day as ambitious as this provided some challenges, but communication and thorough planning ensured everything ran smoothly. Our Traditional Pole marquee was perfect for providing the expansive space that the couple needed. In addition, our ceremony tent allowed the pair to get closer to the water whilst staying comfortable. Fingers crossed we’ll get to visit more beautiful locations like this one this year.

A brilliantly unique space – Rachael and Tim’s Wedding

One great thing about our marquees is the ability to decorate them however your heart desires. With that in mind, why not have a bit of fun with it?

Rachael and Tim did just that. The pair integrated their interests and personalities into their wedding with a wonderful collection of creative decorations. Our Traditional Pole’s blank canvas was converted into a charming and intimate space – a top job from everyone involved.

Not just weddings – World Sheepdog Trials

Compact marquee setup for the exhibition space

We had the pleasure of working alongside the wonderful team at Platinum Expo down at the World Sheepdog Trials in September.

Held in Dromore, Co Down, the setup combined two of our pagoda tents for a compact yet practical exhibition space. Our glass sides allowed natural light to seep in, keeping the smaller space feeling fresh and airy. The finishing touches were added by the lovely people at Platinum Expo, who worked their magic and fitted the marquee as required.

Wedding on the hill – Cliona and Brian’s Wedding

In June we watched Cliona and Brian celebrate their big day in style with a hilltop marquee wedding. Because words can’t do their day justice, here’s a gorgeous summary created by the brilliant people at Whitethorn Media.

Lights, camera, action – Jack and Jenny’s Wedding

It was a real pleasure to end off our summer wedding season with Jenny and Jack’s beautiful wedding situated on the stunning grounds of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.

A key thing to touch upon was the incredible festoon lighting sprinkled throughout. And that’s not all. As the sun set purple strobe lights came to life, transforming the marquee into something truly magical.

Last but not least – Our Open Day 2023

We’d like to finish off with a big thank you to everybody who attended our Open Day in October. It was our first time using an online ticket system, and the response was absolutely incredible. Over 100 people popped in over the three days to take a glimpse at our Traditional and Petal Pole setups.

Taking time away from the setups and getting to meet so many new faces was an amazing end to an equally amazing year.

Thank you for a great year.

2023 was a truly incredible year. We’re thankful to have had the opportunity to travel all across Ireland setting up different events. We couldn’t do what we do without the continuous support on both our socials and in-person, so thank you – it means a lot to us. Even after one of our busiest years yet, we’re still looking forward to what this year brings.

Here’s to an even better 2024. ✨
