With Christmas right around the corner, it’s difficult to believe the year is nearly over. From familiar faces to new clients, our team has been hard at work bringing a range of different events to life. So now, for the second year in a row, let’s take a closer look at some of the projects we took on over the last 12 months.
Kicking off the Year – An 80th Birthday Celebration
Starting off the year, we teamed up with the wonderful people at Callow Events and Blue Moon Event Design to bring this 80th birthday party to life.
Our Traditional Pole marquee was the perfect choice for such an event, accommodating the large guest list whilst maintaining that rustic, vintage aesthetic. The high ceiling space enabled lemon trees to be interspersed between tables, crafting a fresh and unique dining experience for guests.
Welcome to the Wedding Season – Emma and Simonโs Wedding
In May, Emma and Simon began our wedding season with their beautiful 12x24m Traditional Pole setup. From the dark green hue in the tablecloths to the red shades found in the scattered flowers, the interior used a bold blend of colours for a striking impact. Hanging flower rings served as the focal point for the interior, wrapping all elements together to create a cohesive theme.
Getting Down to Business – Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links
It wasn’t just about weddings and parties this year. In June, our team travelled to Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links to prepare a corporate setup featuring our Traditional Pole marquee. A big thank you to all of the staff, whose hospitality helped us provide another successful event.
Floral Inspiration – Gina and Shaneโs Wedding
Stepping inside Gina and Shane’s 9x27m Petal Pole revealed a world of swinging flowers and fairy lights. Opting for a more conversational approach to dining, the couple swapped rows of trestle tables for round tables instead. That’s not forgetting about the transparent sides either, which allowed natural light to seep through to keep the interior feeling rich and open.
A Timeless Interior – Katherine and Michaelโs Wedding
Based in Hillsborough, Katherine and Michael’s big day took no shortcuts. Keeping it mellow, the interior brandished cascading flower pieces across its canopy and a subtle colour palette to suit. Round tables and trestle tables were used in tandem for dining, optimising the available space and leaving room for both a stage and a bar. Great stuff all round!
Setting Sail – ILCA 6 Youth European Championships
In July, we had the pleasure of setting up our pagodas for the ILCA 6 Youth European Championships at Ballyholme Yacht Club.
It was a busy outing for our team, but our staff rose to the challenge, working quickly and efficiently to accomodate the oncoming crowds amidst versatile weather conditions. The following few days were filled with spectacular sailing and fierce competition, with an abundance of talent on display from all teams. A massive congratulations to all those who competed, and to the organisers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it possible.
Married under Moonlight – Tara and Peterโs Garden Wedding
Last but not least, we arrive at our 12x30m Traditional Pole setup for Tara and Peter’s wedding. Our marquee stood as the focal point of the setup, accommodating both dining and entertainment for the night. A line of festoon lights draped along the top of the canvas helped cast magnificent shadows down the sides, making for a larger than life effect that left a lasting impression on guests – what a way to end the year.
Thank you for an incredible year.
As we look forward to another year, we would like to thank everybody who has supported us along the way. This year, our team travelled all across Ireland, visiting new places and bringing big events to life – none of which would have been possible without your continuous support.
From all of us at MJM Marquees, thank you – it means a lot.
See you in 2025. ๐
